I have continually enjoyed Jacqui Rose books and have not yet been disappointed

I have continually enjoyed Jacqui Rose books and have not yet been disappointed. My favourite however was Dishonour which was her best to date in my opinion. With this latest release featuring characters from previous books I was really looking forward to it. Alfie Jennings is a character that I didn’t like all that much at the beginning but eventually he grew on me. What I was chuffed about was the return of some fantastic characters from previous books such as Franny Doyle, Vaughn Sadler and Del Williams.
The book starts off really well and you are thrown straight into the dire situation it seems Soho is now in. With some of the well-known faces having all returned to London they have no idea that the Triads who they are up against are ready for an all-out war. Alfie seems to be at the middle of everything and when his niece Chloe-Jane rocks up it seems that things rapidly go from bad to worse.
There is plenty to keep the reader entertained pretty much from the get-go and there wasn’t a moment where there wasn’t something going on. As the book gets towards the halfway point it seems to ratchet up in terms of fear factor and when Chloe-Jane gets involved without realising it, you just know that the outcome cannot be good.
I found myself turning the pages quickly and totally immersing myself in this latest tale. I had a couple of minor niggles, but nothing much to write home about and thoroughly enjoyed this latest book. I must say though that I think this book should be where it ends for certain characters that are reaching a point where they don’t need to return. Although this wasn’t a 5 star read for me (that was most definitely Dishonour!) this was another cracking read and I will as always look forward to the next one.

By I Love Reading
I have read and enjoyed other books by Jacqui Rose. And although this was a great read. It felt like I was a good way in before it really grabbed me.
I enjoyed the story line, and I liked most of the characters, hated the one's you are supposed to hate.
We kick off with it all kicking off in Soho.
A few of the past faces are faced with trying to sort out the Triads who seem to be causing havoc all around Soho and trying to take over. But why are they out for trouble. Has someone upset them. And who or how can they find out.
This book starts off at a steady pace, and it was half way through before i really got stuck into it. Then I just wanted to read and read. I think Jacqui has written another great book here, and as usual I can not wait to read more from this author.
I think its becoming harder and harder to write a book in this genre that isn't the same old same old. And Jacqui has done really well with this one. It is an enjoyable read, and I don't think fans will be disappointed with this book.

Alright only

I thought it was a good story but I wasn't mad about Chloe-Jane who was the he main character.
She was to boring for me, the other characters had been in previous books so they were fairly well developed.
It was too obvious what was going to happen which annoyed me a bit
